These Photos Posted in the “Life” Magazine Will Make You Consider Taking Up Photography
Airplane Douglas 4 Over Manhattan, 1939
The Douglas Aircraft Company was an American aircraft manufacturer based in southern California. It was one of the few established in the ’20s, and one of its productions, the airplane Douglas 4, provided one of the best shots for photographer Margaret Bourke-White.
Bourke-White was known to be obsessed with ariel photography, and she had taken to it like a duck to water, producing some of the most epic shots that are still regarded as masterpieces today. This one showed the Douglas 4 airplane flying over Manhattan, and we have to admit that it was perfectly timed, capturing the city’s architecture as well as the plane’s beauty.
Texaco Under Cloud Cover, 1947
The American West is home to some of the most breathtaking locations along the silent Route 66. Photographer Andreas Feininger managed to capture this magnificent image of Texaco on just a normal day, as the crowds seemed to fall off the sky and crowd the quiet little town in all its beauty.
The clouds simply add a breathtaking dimension to the already beautiful landscape, which is proof of Feininger’s ability to capture some of the most unique pictures. It certainly is a beauty to behold on what was just another hot summer day in Seligman, Arizona, and makes us want to take a vacation.
Attorney Richard Nixon, 1946
We are all entitled to our career choice, but some of them may mean that we have to change every aspect of our lives. One of them is being a politician, more so the president of a country like the United States. This is because it’s easy to get caught up in the idea of serving the country and forget one’s true self.
Richard Nixon, the 37th president of America, was an attorney before becoming president, and this picture shows just how much different he was back when he was just taking his political baby steps by vying for congress.
