Russell stars as Captain Ron an eccentric sailor who is hired by Martin Short’s character to charter a yacht for his family. Turns out, that Captain Ron doesn’t know how to navigate and the yacht is in ruins. Place played Short’s daughter in the movie; she has just gotten engaged.
The movie did not receive good reviews when it was first released in 1992. However, in the mid-2010s, it had a bit of a revival by finding a niche with sailors. Russell contributed much to the Captain’s dressing by incorporating items from his own closet.
