The Groovy ‘80s

This picture is straight from the ‘80s. You can tell by the distinct fashion the man and woman are sporting. The woman is in a bright yellow body suit with a black, plunging leotard. The man wears blue shorts with a towel around his neck. Both of them are sporting chunky sneakers, a staple from back when Tina Turner, Lionel Richie, and The police would blast on the radio.

The woman’s perm is also a distinctive ‘80s hairdo popularized by Cher and Deirdre Barlow. This picture looks like it is an advertisement for athletic equipment. It is featured heavily in the ad, with a bright red cover to make it more prominent.

Just Like a Wavin’ Flag

This is another image of the ‘80s stylistic choices. With an American flag in the background, the ladies have decided that their clothes will have a patriotic undertone as they dress to match the flag. Wearing matching stark white leggings with a white top, they add just the right pop of color with blue long legwarmers and shorts.

During the ‘80s, more and more women joined acrobatics and start paying attention to their looks so they could look their best while they got fitter. Jane Fonda’s 1982 “Workout Video” showed her looking stylish as she guided women to care for their health. The video went on to sell 17 million copies.

This is because there is a nice, foam sole to provide comfort to the wearer and allow them to do running, skipping, and other leg movements comfortably.
