From Old Tiles to Diapers, Grapes as Ice and Straws to Flavor Popcorn, These Hacks Are bound to Change Your Life

Using a Charger To Keep Coffee Warm

If there is one thing that is common in any office, it’s laptop chargers getting hot and coffee getting cold because the desk owner forgot to drink it. But there is a way to kill two birds with one stone, and that is putting that hot charger to use to keep the coffee from getting cold.

Coffee mugs are renowned for being able to channel heat and remain hot. Keeping the charger cool is essential, too, though, and there are many ways to do that. That includes removing the battery when using the plug and keeping the adapter box in a cool place or even on the ground.

Preventing a Royal Mess

Shavings from a saw or drill can make a royal mess and be difficult to clean up. But there is a way to avoid that and get the job done at the same time… at least for when using the drill. The only accessory required is a plastic cup.

Make a hole in the back of the cup that the front of the drill can fit into easily, and then attach it snugly so that nothing can seep through. Now whatever shaving comes from using the drill on the ceiling will be caught in the cup and won’t fall all onto any other surfaces.

Beautify Your Wireless Charger

Wireless phone chargers have become more and more commonplace, with this charging function being included in several top-of-the-range devices. Even if it isn’t though, there are accessories and attachments that can be bought to make a device charge wirelessly. But these things don’t always look as attractive as their functionality.

But there is a novel way to keep the unsightly contraption out of sight. This method involved cutting the shape of the charger into the book’s pages, keeping in mind the thickness of the device. Fit the device into the book, close it, and whenever the phone needs charging, place it on the book. Nifty and pleasing to the eye.

Keeping Wine Cool

Whenever there is a celebration on the horizon, someone always says the line, “keep the champagne on ice.” In fact, this is the reason people own ice buckets so that they can lay their wine bottles in them, with ice inside, to keep them chilled until the shindig begins.

The reason for this is that if ice is put into a glass of wine, it will melt and water it down. But there is an alternative to the ice bucket method, and it involves simply freezing some grapes. When the frozen grapes are thrown into the glass they will chill it, but won’t water down the wine when thaws out.

How To Stop Things From Boiling Over

While it’s never advisable to leave the kitchen while cooking, sometimes people don’t have a choice, and also think that they won’t be gone long enough for anything to happen. One of these things is when people are boiling pasta or something else in a pot, and they know it’s going to boil over, but need to step away.

The solution? Place an oven griddle over the top of the pot. The griddle doesn’t distribute the heat and therefore prevents the bubbles from going beyond the top of the pot. Another, more widespread solution involved putting a wooden spoon across the top of the pot.
