Big Names From The Past Blessed With Long Lives: Check Out What They’re Up To Today!

Harry Belafonte – 1927

People consider Harry Belafonte to be among the most successful Jamaican-American singers. He helped the Trinidadian Caribbean genre get famous during the ’50s, and he earned the nickname King of Calypso. The biggest hit he had in his career was The Banana Boat Song.

Outside of his music career, he’s well-known for his political and humanitarian advocacies. He’s a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and a celebrity ambassador for the American Civil Liberties Union. Music hasn’t brought him earnings for a long time now because his last album was 1988’s Paradise in Gazankulu.
