Big Names From The Past Blessed With Long Lives: Check Out What They’re Up To Today!
Bob Barker – 1923
Bob Barker was a member of the US Navy during the Second World War before he pursued a degree while working on radio. He decided to move to California in the ’50s so that he can get into broadcasting.
Barker’s life changed forever in the ’70s when he started hosting The Price Is Right. He officially retired in 2007 after hosting the program for more than three decades. Barker got hospitalized for severe back pain in 2018, but he made a full recovery and is still happily alive at 97 years old.
Lorenzo Lamas – 1958
American actor Lorenzo Lamas may never shake off the identity of an irresponsible grandson, a role he played in the ’80s soap opera “Falcon Crest.” For that role, though, he received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Series, Miniseries or Television Film.
In the 21st century, however, he became known for his role as Dr. Hollywood in the Nickelodeon TV show “Big Time Rush” and starred in his own reality TV show “Leave It to Lamas.” After enjoying relative success in the entertainment industry, Lamas pursued another interest—flying helicopters. Since 2016, he has been working as a pilot and now works with HeliNY in New York City.
Scott Valentine – 1958
Scott Valentine is an American actor best known for playing Nick Moore in the ’80s NBC series “Family Ties.” His career has persisted for several decades since the ’80s, owing to his success on “Family Ties” that led to three separate spinoffs. Since that time, he has appeared as a guest actor in popular television series, including “JAG” and “CSI: NY.”
Since 2007, after appearing in the sci-fi film “Harpies,” we haven’t seen him in any other role both in TV and film. However, he seems to be doing well for himself, seeing as he got remarried in his hometown in 2021 and is now a partner at a boutique investment firm.
