Amazing Houses Owned By Rich Celebrities

Jimmy Carter – Georgia

Unlike his successors and predecessors, President Jimmy Carter decided to make the ranch he built in the 60s as his primary residence. Away from the urban life, it seems to be the perfect place for post-retirement living. You might be surprised to find out that his Georgia ranch currently values at $167,000, which is far less than many luxury presidential cars.

The two-bedroom house has a modest interior with sky-blue walls and some lovingly collected paintings for decor. Carter has given numerous interviews at his residence post-retirement from the land’s highest office, so chances are you may have already glimpsed his charming abode on TV.

Jay Leno – Rhode Island

You don’t need to be friends with the American late-night legend Jay Leno to know he likes to think big. The iconic talk show host is the owner of a massive castle-like home in Rhode Island, which cost him a reported $13.5 million and features a whopping 14 bedrooms and 17 bathrooms.

This classic American home was designed by an architect who worked on the Statue of Liberty, so you can tell it’s a proper piece of American history. The whole place is decorated with lavish chandeliers and antiques from the 1930s. In 2021, Leno was announced as the host of the upcoming game show You Bet Your Life.

Betty White – California

As you get older, it’s only natural that you get attached to the things you’re used to. Even when you’re as iconic as the one-and-only Betty White! At the impressive age of 99, White still lives in her “old” California mansion, where she gets to be the American television legend we’re accustomed to.

While White’s furniture doesn’t exactly look modern, she looks like she’s pretty comfortable with enjoying her golden years in her Golden State home. In 2021, the outstanding career of the former The Mary Tyler Moore Show star was celebrated with a special Hollywood Insider episode.

Johnny Mathis – Hollywood Hills

Johnny Mathis, a Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter, lived in this house for 56 years. Unfortunately, the Hollywood Hills home got engulfed by fire in November 2015. The now 85-year-old music legend just came back from Cleveland after performing when he found out what happened to his beloved residence.

Apparently, the destructive flames started in a room containing aquariums and other electrical equipment. And although some of the belongings got salvaged by firefighters, the Rocket 88 crooner’s prized piano was unredeemable. With $400 million as a fortune today, we don’t think Mathis, dubbed as The Voice of Romance, found it hard to find another home, though.
