60 Celebrity Marriages That Are Winning, Including Four That Prove Blind Dates Work
Maury Povich & Connie Chung – 37 Years
We have seen Maury Povich and Connie Chung grace the halls of television for a while now. Yet, sometimes we forget that they come home to each other every night. Povich is best known for his talk show “Maury” until his retirement in 2022. Meanwhile, Chung has been an anchor and reporter for the biggest networks, CBS, CNN, and ABC.
They initially met at a television station in 1969, but it was not until they started dating in 1977. They tied the knot in 1984 in front of 65 guests. Maury told “People” that it is about respecting each other’s careers and values that kept the union strong.
Ted Danson & Mary Steenburgen – 25 Years
The film Pontiac Moon was the fourth-worst movie on Bob Strauss’s year-end list for the Los Angeles Daily News in the year it was released. It was supposed to be an all-time low for its star Ted Danson, but it was anything but that because he had met his wife to be Mary Steenburgen.

The couple tied the knot in 1995 and got together after a tumultuous ending to Danson’s relationship with Whoopi Goldberg and the ending of his second marriage. Danson is also a stepfather to Steenburgen’s children. He is currently starring in the 2021 sitcom Mr. Mayor.
Joy Reid & Jason Reid – 23 Years
Currently hosting a show called The ReidOut, Joy Reid married very early in her journalism career. In fact, she and her husband, Discovery Channel documentary editor Jason Reid, have been together for most of her rollercoaster career that has seen her go from a morning show in Florida to one of America’s most prominent political analysts.

She is also an author who has had two books published. One is called Fracture: Barack Obama, the Clintons, and the Racial Divide, while the other is The Man Who Sold America: Trump and the Unraveling of the American Story. Joy also teaches at Syracuse University, focusing on race, gender, and the media.
Steve Harvey & Marjorie Harvey – 13 Years
Steve Harvey is excessive proof that playing a long game yields maximum results. While struggling to build a reputation as a comedian, Harvey worked as a janitor, mechanic, and insurance salesman before getting his big break. He now has $200 million in the bank.

Likewise, with his relationship with his wife Marjorie, who he first saw at a show in 1990, it took him 17 years, two marriages, and four children before he married her. Now he has the woman of his dreams and a $15 million mansion to share with her and their seven children. Harvey is a producer of an upcoming series called Think Like a Man.
Jay Leno & Mavis Leno – 41 Years
Did Jay Leno really retire from media work after leaving The Tonight Show? It’s doubtful you can retire after 17 years hosting America’s most popular late-night show. But you can start working from home, like Leno did, hosting a show called Jay Leno’s Garage since 2014.

In 2021 he also started a show called You Bet Your Life which he also hosts. But we bet his wife Mavis, a philanthropist, is just glad to have him home and not leave for work at odd hours. While Jay continues to make TV shows, Mavis is hard at work taking on feminist issues and helping in challenged communities.
