60 Celebrity Marriages That Are Winning, Including Four That Prove Blind Dates Work

CHRISSY METZ & BRADLEY COLLINS – 2 YEARS

“This Is Us” star Chrissy Metz had “no shame” about telling the world that she found love on a dating app. She told Andy Cohen that she went on Bumble, where she met Bradley Collins, an encounter she describes as “meant to be.”

There have been rumors that Collins and Metz already got engaged, but she has since denied them. Metz, who played Trish in “Sierra Burgess Is A Loser,” saw Collin’s profile, an aspiring writer, and noticed him holding a themed coffee cup from her TV show. Initially thinking it was weird to pursue him, she gave in and has been happy with him for the past two years.

Tom Selleck & Jillie Mack – 33 Years

There’s a perfectly good reason that the 1984 movie Lassiter was a bomb. Not just because it tried to be too much like Tom Selleck’s Magnum P.I. But because Selleck, the main star, was too busy going to the West End to watch Cats to do a good job as his character.

Not that he cares, because after the Lassiter filming in London, he came back to America with his future wife, Jillie Mack. In the ’80s, Mack played the Rumpelteazer in the theater classic, although she hasn’t really dabbled in the industry since leaving England for America. Selleck is currently still starring as Frank Reagan in Blue Bloods.

LARRY BIRD & DINAH MATTINGLY – 33 YEARS

Larry Bird first met Dinah Mattingly when they both attended Indiana State University. They got together and, after dating for almost 12 years, tied the knot. Their nuptials took place at the former home of Max Gibson. It was a mid-day ceremony with five other guests. Gibson, along with Glen Ankley, was Bird’s business partner in Larry Bird’s Boston Connection, a restaurant they owned together.

The former Celtics player and Mattingly chose to adopt two kids to expand their family, a daughter Mariah and a son, Conner. Throughout Bird’s illustrious career, Mattingly has been his rock and has supported him in both his private and public life.

Cyndi Lauper & David Thornton – 30 Years

As an ’80s musical icon, Cyndi Lauper gained fame for rebellious party songs like Girls Just Want to Have Fun and All Through The Night. But eventually, she just wanted to settle down, and she did just that when she met the love of her life David Thornton an actor famous for roles in Law & Order and The Notebook, among others.

They met and started dating in 1989, during Lauper’s A Night To Remember album period, and married in 1991. They have been together ever since and have one son together, born in 1997. They recently announced that Lauper would have a role in the upcoming Goonies 2.

Gladys Knight & William McDowell – 20 Years

After three failed marriages, Gladys Knight must’ve thought she was never going to settle. But then she married gospel musician William Mcdowell in 2001, and things seem to be holding together pretty well. You’d think McDowell would find it hard as a musician being married to the ten-time Grammy-winning Empress of Soul with hits like Midnight Train to Georgia and Love Overboard.

But McDowell has a solid reputation, with five studio albums, including a gospel chart-topping third album titled Withold Nothing that earned him a Grammy nomination. Knight hasn’t released any new music recently but will be playing herself in the upcoming sequel to the Eddie Murphy classic Coming To America.
